What is No Coasting?
← All posts
No Coasting is a simple rule for your Zone 2 rides: keep your legs turning with steady pressure on the pedals.
How it works
Go easy on the climbs. On the downhills and flats, push the pedals instead of coasting. This keeps your effort steady and your time in the zone high.
Why it matters
Coasting breaks up a Zone 2 ride into stops and starts, which reduces the training effect. Staying on the pedals keeps the ride continuous so you get the aerobic work you came for.
