How to corner
← All posts
Every corner you take badly costs you a sprint to get back on. Good cornering saves energy and keeps you safe.
Before the corner
Do your braking early and in a straight line, then let go of the brakes before you lean the bike. Choose your line while you are still approaching.
In the corner
- Look through the turn to where you want to exit, not at the wheel in front.
- Keep your outside foot down and put weight through it.
- Stay relaxed in your arms and let the bike lean under you.
Out of the corner
Start pedaling as soon as the bike is upright. Practice at easy speeds first, then build up.
